BASF says its new toluene diisocyanate (TDI) plant at Ludwigshafen will not operate at capacity until 2018. The company said in November that due to a technical fault the 300,000 metric tons/year plant has been idled for repairs. BASF invested more than €1 billion ($1.06 billion) in the plant, including precursor units, its highest ever investment at Ludwigshafen. It commissioned the complex in August 2016.
